This ring was often seen in the mid-19th century up as a mourning ring. I have since found this lovely and delicate reproduction made in vermeil (gold plate over sterling silver).
In the mid-to late 19th century, novelties in jewelry were related to innovations in science, industry, and leisure activities. We see insects, fishing, cycling, and other new designs. There were also fads then as well as today which included jewelry that came from around the world.
I currently only have only three in stock.
