I have made this style necklace once before as a custom order. I've been wanting to make more, and was finally able to do so! These are made from new and vintage pieces. The cameos are also a mix, made in resin or acrylic, in new settings, and the pearls in vintage. The clasp is new, gold-plated, with a pearl to finish the look!

I've made three of these from cameos I had in my stock. I also make earrings, tiaras, and headbands in this style for those who wish to add to their collection. I love that the cameos lay nicely around my neck (third photo). The inspiration of these are from originals from portraits and original pieces. Portrait inspiration is from Portrait de Femme by Jean-François Sablet circa 1810 and I have made necklaces just like it. In this version, I liked the simple lines of the pearls connecting the cameos. Check out my other listings for other necklaces brooches, and earrings with smaller cameos and intaglios. You see classical elements from Diana the Huntress, The Three Graces, Lovers, Travellers with Horses and Carriage, a Horse profile, to a Woman's profile just to name a few.

The length of these are coral 17-1/2 inches, blue 17-1/2 inches, and black 17-1/4 inches long. The cameos are 40x30mm, and they have a gold plated pearl clasp.

Cameos gained steadily in popularity over the 18th century, as evidenced by their occurrence as motifs on objects of all sorts. You will see cameos with scenes fairly early on, and with people's faces or profiles in jewelry starting in about the 1780's up into the turn of the century.
