The CHARLOTTE buckles are exact reproductions from an original pair that I own (shown together in the last photo - original on top).
Listed are the CHARLOTTE in a jet or black paste on a gunmetal base. You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-1/4 inches long, 2 inches wide, and will accommodate a strap (latchet) width of 1-1/4 inches. They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.
These are very similar to a pair that Martha Washington wore. I also have them in a multitude of other colors - all very limited stock - but these are really wonderful for a mourning impression or someone that wants a little sparkle in a subdued way. Once the colors are gone they will not be remade unless there is a huge outcry.
The shoes shown are American Duchess Dunmore in oxblood and white. (http://www.american-duchess.com/shoes-18th-century/dunmore-18th-century-shoe-white). The black and pink silk pair are from RoseGalante on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/RoseGalante)
