This listing is for my reproduction dove modeled after a vintage find by a customer who portrays Martha Washington (last photo).

Mrs. Washington's pin was in the form of a Bird "composed of seed pearls affixed to a three piece, mother-of-pearl backing; seed pearls outline the form of the body and wings of the bird and fill in the upper half of the wings; eight pearls in graduated sizes, each encircled by smaller seed pearls, are mounted along the body of the bird, with the largest pearl at the tail and the smallest at the head; a silver crescent shaped bar supports the wings on the back of the bird; a silver-gilt pin clasp is mounted vertically along the body of the bird on its back."

My version is silver, antiqued silver, or gold plated with faux pearls. The brooch measures 2-1/2 inches high by 1-3/4 inch wide. The metal is cut to give it depth and character.

It is perfect to wear everyday on your lapel, to close a scarf, on a dress, coat, jacket, or for your historical needs on a gown or in your hair.
