The EDEN buckles were made after an original in my personal collection, and are one of my most accurate buckle to date! They are mailed out in a special "K. Walters, Jeweler at the Sign of the Gray Horse" velvet bag.
These 18th Century shoe buckles are exact reproductions from an original that I own - yep just one that I was able to base these after.
Listed are the EDEN in a silver, dark silver gray, or gold version. They are solid cast, nickel-plated metal that won't bend or break.
You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-1/4 inches long, 2 inches high, and will accommodate a leather or fabric strap (latchet) width of 1-5/16 inches (just slightly over 1-1/4"). They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.
The shoes shown are American Duchess Dunmore in the black. Last photo is of the original shoe buckle these were based from.
While I did base this on an original that I own, there is also a portrait of Jeremiah Lee by John Singleton Copley, 1769, in the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art that look very similar in the very last photo.
