These fans were given to me and purchased many years ago in Spain. They are at least 30 years old. They both have lace on them, one with some lovely color, and the other all gold. You can choose which one you would like in the drop down menu!
The one with color is 10-3/4 inches long and 18 inches at the widest part when open. It is plain on the back. It also has a rope cord on the loop at the bottom. The back has a small area on a couple of the sticks (or slips) with a bit of blue from the color on the front. I have photos of that area as well.
The all gold is 10-1/2 inches long by 17-1/2 inches at the widest part when open. It is plain on the back. It has no rope cord but does have the loop.
They are both pretty spectacular. The sticks are a type of resin, the loops at the bottom metal.
Portrait inspiration for these is Queen Charlotte - she had an all lace fan. She absolutely loved lace! The portrait is by Johann Zoffany and dated 1771.
I have a pinterest page with historical prints and paintings with ladies holding fans. Check it out and follow me at https://www.pinterest.com/kkwalte/18th-century-fans/
