This is perfect as a shirt buckle, to close a scarf, to use to close your kerchief, to put on a lapel, wear in a tie, or for use in many impressions or to wear everyday. I have taken photos of these on a white background - a favorite piece of cloth that I have - to truly show the lovely colors that these turned out to be.

These are exclusive to the Gray Horse - they have "GH" on the back to identify them to my shop. They are made in silver or gold plate with
set rhinestones. I have made these in 11 colors, three of which have a clear crown and a colored heart. The Montana Blue is dark, the Amethyst is also dark but in the right light you can see the color.

Price is for one (1) brooch. They measure 1 inch wide by 1-1/2 inches high.

Some of you may be interested in where the name "Luckenbooth" comes from. Well, luckenbooth is a Scots word for a lockable stall or workshop. It comes from the 15th-century luckenbooths of Edinburgh where silversmiths and goldsmiths sold their jewelery and trinkets, situated on the Royal Mile between Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood (sadly the stalls were demolished in 1817). One of the most popular items sold in these shops was what came to be known as the Luckenbooth brooch, a heart with a crown on it. One legend of the original Luckenbooth brooch is that it was a symbol of love and devotion given by Mary Queen of Scots to Lord Darnley which was soon copied by the crafty jewelers of Edinburgh. The Luckenbooth heart and crown has become a popular symbol in Scotland, both as a love token and to ward off evil and protect the wearer.

If more photos are needed, just ask! Please realize that as I restock, the pin back could be longer or shorter than the photos. If they are longer, just thread it through your shirt/kerchief which is perfectly acceptable.

The last photo is of the original brooch that this was based on, owned by a friend, and I had it in my hands. :-) First photo is of Shane Kippenhan wearing a silver and Montana Blue version of the brooch closing his shirt.
