The JAMES buckles were designed in collaboration with the amazing Lauren Stowell of American Duchess Historical Footwear.
These 18th Century shoe buckles are exact reproductions from an original pair that Mr. James Goucher owns - hence the name.
Listed are the JAMES in an antiqued steel, polished silver, or polished gold version. They are solid cast, nickel-plated metal that won't bend or break.
The polished silver are very limited in stock. You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-1/4 inches long, 1-3/4 inches wide, and will accommodate a strap (latchet) width of 1-1/2 inches. They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.
The imperfect buckles are those that the plating isn't totally even around the top of the buckle. Many cannot tell one way or the other.
The shoes shown are American Duchess Dunmore in the black.
Second to the last photo the buckles are pictured with the "GEORGE" knee buckle which matches the JAMES buckles. I also have a matching stock buckle called the "HAMILTON." The last photo is of the original pair. Amazing detail on these reproductions.
