The CHARLOTTE buckles are exact reproductions from an original pair that I own (shown together in the last photo - original on top).
Listed are the CHARLOTTE in clear paste. You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-1/4 inches long, 2 inches wide, and will accommodate a strap (latchet) width of 1-1/4 inches. They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.
These are very similar to a pair that Martha Washington wore. Second photo is of Katharine Pittman's shoes - she is the young Martha in Colonial Williamsburg. Photo by Annie Horan. I also have them in rose, garnet, olivine, and sapphire among other colors! Yes, even men wear these. :-)
The shoes shown are American Duchess Dunmore in black. (http://www.american-duchess.com/shoes-18th-century/dunmore-18th-century-shoe-white). The sixth photo is of Eliza! The fifth photo is of Sam Lee's shoes. The last photo is the original and reproduction buckles side by side.
