These are vintage cameos are in a scalloped setting which is gold plate over brass. The earwires are gold-filled. The ladies are a mother of pearl so have a sheen to them. They are historically inspired.
They measure almost 1-1/2 inches long by 1/2 inches wide.
Cameos have been around since the 1st Century B.C. They came in and out of favor in the fashions as did clothing. They can be worn in any time period as an old or new heirloom. Cameos with women's profiles were often seen more in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and continue to be worn up to today.
