This listing is for some really lovely crystal star bobby pins in an antiqued gold or antiqued silver plate.
I personally wear modern barrettes in my hair with decoration on them during my living history events - you cannot usually see the back part of it and they keep my hair up nicely.
These are inspired by the stars worn by Empress Elisabeth of Austria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter, 1865 as shown in this listing among other paintings. The wonderful thing about Empress Sissy's hair is that it was all hers. Her hair was so long it took an entire day to wash and dry. You can see it is pulled up and braided around her head. SO beautiful! Her story is tragic, but I fell in love with her when I went to Austria in the 1990's.
Your purchase is for one (1) bobby pin unless you order more than one. They are 2-3/4 inches long with the large star 1-1/8th inches wide.
