These are just the perfect barrette in gold or silver plate for your hair or a wig. They have clear crystals in the shape of a half moon and reminded me of one I have seen that the Metropolitan Museum of Art had recreated after one in their collection. You see this in portraits and prints a lot in the 18th century - mainly in the late 1770's into the 1780's and past the turn of the 19th century in the hair, on turbans, on hats, etc. So SPARKLY but also not over the top! It would look amazing in an updo or put into a wig to decorate your hair. The silver measures 2 inches, and the gold measures 1-3/4 inches.
These are perfect for ballet, dance, an evening out, in the office, or for your historical costuming needs!
