This offering is a collaboration between By Isabelle Design and me! The pearl bow is timeless, and this one made by Isabelle has had me add a South Sea Shell Pearl drop on both styles - either cultured fresh water pearls or glass pearls.
They are seen in portraits as early as the 17th century on up into the 20th century but most prominently up to the 1770's in portraits and prints. It measures 3 inches wide and is 1-3/4 inches high.
I am offering some with a brooch pin that I added to the back, and some without so that you can sew it to your gown. Both ways are very versatile.
Portrait inspiration is so many, I have added some to the listing, but you can also visit my Pinterest page that highlights pearls at https://www.pinterest.com/kkwalte/_saved/
Portrait included is of Mrs Robert Carter III, Frances Ann Tasker by John Wollaston Jr., 1755 to 1758, second is Portrait of a Lady attributed to Mary Beale (1633-1699).
