This is an unusual type of comb with a large crystal and pearl star! I found almost the perfect hair ornament.
I personally wear modern combs in my hair with decoration on them during my living history events - you cannot usually see the comb part of it and they keep my hair up nicely. They come in a silver or gold-plated version. Gold 2 and Silver 2 in the drop down have different style combs on the back.
These are inspired by the stars worn by Empress Elisabeth of Austria by Franz Xaver Winterhalter, 1865 as shown in this listing. The wonderful thing about Empress Sissy's hair is that it was all hers. Her hair was so long it took an entire day to wash and dry. You can see it is pulled up and braided around her head. SO beautiful! Her story is tragic, but I fell in love with her when I went to Austria in the 1990's.
If more photos are needed, just ask. Your purchase is for one (1) comb unless you order more than one. They are 2-1/2 inches wide, and the silver is 1-3/4 inches long from decoration to the bottom of the comb.
