This listing is for a lovely rising sun pair of earrings. They measure about 1-3/4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The suns are gold or silver plate probably over brass. The leverbacks themselves are either gold-fille or sterling silver. They are not heavy. I also have penants available that I added a ring to so they are readdy to hang from a ribbon or necklace.
So beautiful and perfect for everyday, cosplay, costuming, or your historical needs.
The rising sun was a powerful emblem in the 18th century tied to monarchy. It was deeply connected to the legacy of Louis XIV, the "Sun King," whose reign had established the sun as a symbol of absolute power and divine authority. There were also many taverns in colonial America named Rising Sun.
