A perfect offering - a reproduction pocket watch exclusively from my shop - this one has a different face from the other watch offered, and is made after an original owned by me. You can see it in the last photo. The pocket clock is modern and made just for me (yes I own the mold) to replicate one from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is THE most authentic style watch for those doing living history on the market today. It is my fourth style watch, and I hope to offer more with different appropriate faces as they sell out. Each style watch that I make will have a different face, but if demand is enough, I will continue the most popular.
They measure almost 2-1/8 inch round without the stem (3 inches long with the stem), about 3/4 inch thick, have a glass face, and this style is HEAVY. They are perfect for 18th or 19th century impressions and will sit perfectly on a gown or sit securely in a fob (pocket). They will come in an old gold and silver. Price is per watch.
They also look lovely with my watch chains and strings, seals, and keys. Check out my other listings with those offerings.
Battery operated, the stem/crown turns it on and off. There is no second hand on this one just as those in the time. The back can be opened by screwing the plate off so you can change the battery yourself. When the watch is not in use, pull the crown up to stop it - you can also move the hands to set the watch when the crown is in the up position.
It will arrive in a small box within a velvet bag to protect it.
NOTE: Please see my blog for post regarding the use and handling of this watch. https://www.kwaltersatthesignofthegrayhorse.com/2021/06/important-information-on-handling-of.html
I had to make some concessions to these and how they look in comparison to the originals. Gold pocket watches as an example during the 18th century, were generally smaller as gold was much more expensive. As time moves on, they do get larger and smaller depending so these pocket watches are good for pretty much any century - even today.
The last photo is of the original watch face that I based this one on, but I did add my logo. There are many examples with logos like this from the time periods when most used. Generally they had a plainer face.
I have done a blog post about pocket clocks, watch chains, string, etc., at www.kwaltersatthesignofthegrayhorse.com
